Lamborghini Aventador S

The Aventador S is the car people picture when they picture a Lamborghini. A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 mounted behind the cabin, four-wheel steering, pushrod suspension and scissor doors that stop traffic on their own. In Roadster form the two carbon roof panels lift out, so the V12 has nothing between it and everybody within half a mile.

Inside it is hexagonal everything — the fighter-jet start button under its red cover, the TFT instrument display, and diamond-quilted leather with contrast stitching.

Ours is presented in purple with black alloys, red brake calipers and the black-and-red interior. It is valeted, safety-checked and fuelled before every handover, and photographed at collection and return.

This is our headline car. It is booked for birthdays, content shoots, proposals and the occasional wedding, and it is worth booking early.
